The City of Asheboro has been awarded the prestigious Gold Medallion Award under the HIRE Vets (Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing Military Veterans) program in 2024 and 2025, recognizing the City’s continued commitment to hiring and retaining U.S. military veterans. The HIRE Vets Medallion Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, honors employers across the nation who demonstrate exemplary efforts in supporting veteran employment.
As of December 31, 2025, the City of Asheboro employs 38 veterans, representing approximately 8% of its total workforce. Asheboro also achieved 100% 12-month retention rate for veteran employees, reflecting the stability and support the City provides for those who have served.
