The City of Asheboro requires a parade permit to be approved before a parade or special event is held that could interfere with normal vehicular or pedestrian traffic. To inquire about whether a parade permit is required and how to request a permit, please fill out this form. If you have any questions, please call the City Manager’s office at 336-626-1201 ext. 2313. It is strongly recommended that an inquiry or parade permit request be submitted at least 120 days prior to the event.
NOTE: Submission of the form IS NOT authorization to hold the parade or special event.
The purpose of this form is to express initial interest in holding a special event involving City of Asheboro property. This form is separate from a city park rental application and shall be used when the event involves activities outside of a park boundary. It should be submitted at least 120 days prior to the event if the closure of a state-maintained street is requested and 60 days prior to all other events.
Following the submittal and review of this form, city staff will arrange a meeting with the applicant to discuss further details about the event and what the applicant will need to submit to have a formal application approved. There is no fee associated with this Special Interest and Description Form. The Special Event Application Fee will be collected at the time of formal application submittal; final event fees will be collected prior to formal event approval but no less than three business days prior to the event.
